More About Van Compass

They first met at the off-road club at Cal Poly known as the Poly Goats. One of Cal Poly’s oldest clubs, The Poly Goats is more of a fraternity for like-minded students who can’t wait till class is done for the week so they can apply their newly acquired theories and principles to truck build and put them to the test in the dirt. Eventually, Mark and Rob would work together at a small 4WD fabrication shop while finishing their degrees.

Van Compass officially started as an after-hours project with a small shop space rented in Atascadero, CA to tear apart Tall Can for the development of their first product. The Scout Kit, is a 2.0” lift kit for the T1N Sprinter platform, which they still make to this day. After 6 months of burning the midnight oil, both Mark and Rob decided it was a good time in their life to take a risk and give Van Compass 100% of their time and focus. So Van Compass went from a side project to their everyday job.
